Cómo Funciona

Hydrostatic pressure is directly proportional to the height of water above the sensor. A column of water 1 meter tall exerts a pressure of approximately 9.81 kPa. The submersible pressure sensor measures this pressure continuously and converts it to water depth with high accuracy.

Because the measurement is based on weight rather than reflection (ultrasonic) or proximity (capacitive), it works in any tank geometry — round, square, L-shaped, baffled, or irregular. It’s unaffected by foam, floating debris, or tank obstructions that can confuse ultrasonic readings.

Best For

Pressure sensors are the right choice for concrete cisterns with irregular geometry, shared condo cisterns with internal baffles or dividers, and any installation where the ultrasonic sensor can’t get a clean reflection (extremely deep tanks, narrow access, or tanks with significant internal structures).

They’re also the preferred technology for commercial and multi-unit installations where the absolute accuracy of level measurement matters for billing or allocation purposes.

The Tradeoff

The probe is submerged — meaning it contacts the water and can accumulate mineral scale in Cabo’s hard water over time. Annual maintenance (pull, clean, reinstall during cistern cleaning) keeps it accurate. For installations where zero maintenance is preferred, the ultrasonic sensor is the better choice.
