01 · YOUR HOME
A few simple details
Use the busiest moment, including guests. Rain showers can use much more water.Adjust water use & salt prices
Excludes irrigation/pool fill. Default 150 L is a planning assumption.Starting values: $400 + $100 delivery. Cabo stock and delivered price are not yet verified.02 · YOUR STARTING POINT
Family home
For measured hard water, prioritize a true softener. Add filtration for a different job, and kitchen RO only if you want that additional treatment.
Hardness unknown: using 150–450 mg/L scenarios, not a measured Cabo value. Confirm with a hardness test.Choose individual components
Keep what you need. Every component can be requested on its own.
Additional capacity/flow allowance: $5,000. Planning allowance for a larger configuration, not a priced or certified model.
03 · BETTER TOGETHER
Same components. One coordinated installation.

- Proposed combined-installation saving
- −$720
Proposed 15% discount on installation labour for 2+ components installed together. Equipment prices stay the same. Not a past-price claim.
Basic accessible installation only. Plumbing alterations, electrical work, drainage changes and unusual access are quoted separately before work. First salt fill and recurring costs are not in this total.

What will the salt cost?
An estimate for your household, with salt delivery shown explicitly. We can also quote delivery, refilling and routine checks.
20 kg bag: $400 + $100 delivery = $500. At this consumption: approximately 3–12 whole bags / year.
Self-service: buy compatible softener salt and check/refill the tank as needed. Use the grade specified for the selected model.
Monthly figures are consumption equivalents, not a promise to buy a bag every month. Annual bags are rounded up and exclude the initial brine-tank fill. Actual salt use depends on hardness, settings and regeneration. Water used in regeneration, electricity, filters and repairs are additional.
A conditioner is not a softener.
FOR ACTUAL HARDNESS REDUCTION
Ion-exchange softener
Removes calcium and magnesium hardness from the treated water through ion exchange. Requires salt, regeneration water, drainage and periodic checks. This is the starting point when your goal is genuinely softer water.
FOR SELECTED SCALE-CONTROL NEEDS
Conditioner / scale-control media
Does not remove hardness like an ion-exchange softener. TAC media and polyphosphate are different technologies; performance and media replacement depend on the product and water chemistry. No regeneration salt does not mean no maintenance.
Explore the separate scale-control option →Neither option proves the water is safe to drink. Drinking-water treatment and disinfection require their own assessment.
How this estimate works & sources
People × treated litres/day estimates daily use. Peak flow = simultaneous showers × shower flow + 2 L/min for another fixture. These are starting assumptions; measure real demand and available pressure.
Indicative usable softening capacity: 36,000 grains. Uses the upper hardness scenario, a 7-day planning interval and 20% reserve. This is not nominal resin capacity or a model approval.
Salt estimate uses a planning efficiency of 3,000–4,000 grains/lb of salt. Manufacturer laboratory efficiency can exceed real operating efficiency. Exact settings, regeneration water and first fill require the selected model.
