Why This Matters
Chlorine is the only active defense your cistern water has against bacterial growth. After a pipa delivery of chlorinated water, the chlorine residual decays over days — faster in warm water (Cabo’s ground temperature: 25-28°C year-round). Once it reaches zero, your stored water has no disinfection protection.
This kit lets you measure that decay curve for your specific cistern. Test right after delivery (should show 0.2-1.0 mg/L if the source was treated). Test again at day 2, day 4, day 7. You’ll see exactly when your protection window closes — and know how your cistern’s water age translates to real health risk.
